cruise_pennant.jpgMADISONVILLE, LA (October 27, 2013) - The Cruising Fleet Fall Cruise has come and gone and based on the police response, we left our mark!

The Fall Cruise was held on the weekend of October 26-27.  A few boats made the trip up the Tchefuncte River to the beautiful town of Madisonville on Friday and the rest of the fleet arrived on Saturday.  A total of eight boats rafted along "the Wall" in Madisonville to enjoy an evening of wine, dine and song. This was our first opportunity to display our new Cruise Pennants and they were flying high. Hors d’oeuvres, beverages and camaraderie were abundant in preparation for our evening meal under the oaks and stars. Since this was the weekend before Halloween, costumes were donned by many. Needless to say pirate outfits were popular.

pa260514.jpgManager Jerry Clemens and his wife, Lynn, and Leon from the club, arrived with a great meal of smoked brisket and ribs accompanied by appropriate sides and dessert.  Meanwhile, the Chad Reeves Duo provided perfect mealtime entertainment. Our festivities drew the attention of the Madisonville Police Department, who were very understanding and allowed us to continue our celebration. Perhaps we should invite them in advance for our next outing. The evening ended uneventfully without any reported casualties.

The next morning was cool and crisp, perfect for Mimosas on the lawn. With a little advanced notice, Waterstreet Bistro opened an hour early to accommodate our gang with a delicious brunch and obligatory Bloody Marys and Mimosas.

After an enjoyable and successful weekend everyone returned to their yachts for the trip home and to contemplate our next adventure in the Spring.
