GULFPORT, MS - Light winds early and a building breeze in the Mississippi Sound favored the faster-rated boats in the 2014 edition of the Race to the Coast.  The fleet was lucky through the bridges, as not one boat reported Bridge Time for the event.  Almost all of the fleet finished between 730p and 830p.  Read more for awards.

ANEMONE TICKLER jumped out to an insurmountable lead to win the Fleet overall and Div A.  Skipper Anthony Hudson turned his Antrim 27 around at the finish line to deliver the boat back to NOLA without setting a foot ashore!

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, Guy Williams, held off a late charge by the scratch boats to take second in Div A and win the Bugs Avegno trophy for the first SYC skipper to finish.

John Lee's LESSON #1, skippered by Geoff Single, was third in Div A and recorded the Best Elapsed Time for the 50-mile course.

PURSUIT, Patrick Waring, was the scratch boat in Div B and took first place.

Ken Yeoman's PERFIDIA was second in Div B.

HOT CHOCOLATE, Casey Grimm, took third in Div B.

Both Non-Spinnaker entries retired.
